Back in September I was invited back to Crans Montana in Switzerland to undertake a very unique ride which for the most part, is not possible for the general public. Crans Montana is known for it’s easily accessible (relatively speaking) high alpine off piste riding opportunities however, there is one cherry that sits high up and largely out of reach for the majority of riders heading to this resort. Glacier du Plaine Morte, sitting at over 3000 meters with the weather station some 500 meters above that. The lack of oxygen and perilous un-groomed terrain mean that beyond a short wander around the gondola stations, to explore this landscape requires a qualified Swiss mountain guide!
With support from Crans Montana, we have Julian from Bike Valais guide us from the weather station down past the glacier and eventually to the bottom and by the Rhone river some 2500 meters below.
I was joined by journalist Matt Ray and collectively we made a full report of our day for MBUK which was published in their January issue, out now from most good newsagents or online.
A bucket list trip for me so big thanks to the MBUK editorial team for the trust as we stepped into the unknown and to Crans Montana for supporting the project.
The first week of December saw me head back to London to produce some new lifestyle imagery for FlowBio. We had a nice small team and two great athletes that didn’t complain once about the cold on a classic British December day.
Recently I headed back to the motherland that is the UK, primarily there for two commercial projects hoverer I did take the time to take in some sights and top up British nostalgia levels. Seven Sisters is an iconic landmark in the South of England, one that maybe I took for granted when I was actually based in the UK. I was in the area so took the opportunity to head out and hike around the hills and coastline as the sun broke above the horizon.

Earlier this year on possible one of the wettest days of Swedish summer, I headed out with the Bliz crew to create some MTB lifestyle imagery as part of their activation at Eurobike in 2024. The images would be a key element to their large display printed in large format providing a unique background to their stand whilst showcasing their Scandinavian roots. The last race of the season had all the charaterics of a classic autumn riding experience in Scandinavia, rain, wind and the mercury failing to reach double figures. It has been a great season working alongside the Gotland Enduro organisation who put on a collection of great races in fantastic venues, covering a vast area of Southern Sweden. For now I look forward to regaining some downtime at the weekend and pondering what next season contains.
Autumn has rolled in with what felt like a blink of the eye. As the seasons change I enjoy more time in forests my home in Småland, autumn is one of the most beautiful times to be in Sweden as we plan ahead for projects later in the year.
This week I made a brief trip to Oslo in Norway with journalist and host of Cyklewebban Niclas Haslum to work on an editorial for Cycling Plus in collaboration with Visit Norway and Trek Bicycles.
We were joined my DH ski legend Aksel Svindal who would act as our guide showcasing his favourite road cycling routes around the Norwegian Capital on a brisk autumnal morning, the sun did also come out! Like many Scandinavian cities, Oslo is very well considered and well suited to cycle tourism so it was a pleasant experience passing through to see both the mountains surround the city and the fjord that first made the Norse folk settle here.

I have passed Lake Geneva many times but it is seemingly always in darkness as I arrive late or depart early from Geneva airport however, during a recent trip to Crans Montana with MBUK & Cycling Plus. I took the train around the lake just as golden hour dipped into blue hour, glued to the window of the train I managed to get glimpses across to the lesser populated side of the lake on the French side and capture some brief moments before darkness fell.
My recent trip was an unforgettable one, an experience of a lifetime to which I’m grateful for the trust from MBUK and support from Crans Montana to make it possible. A big thanks to all involved and in the meant time, I look forward to sharing what we were working on during our stay in Crans.

Saturday I headed West for the Gravel Grit n Grind UCI Gravel World Series race through the rolling hills of Halland with some of the worlds bets gravel racers showing up to take on the course! It’s been a while since I’ve been in amongst it at the races, it was good to be back and out on the Moto documenting the action as it happen.
